Re Mixcraft 8 performance and installed but currently unused plugins:
Is it better to move any unused plugins to a separate "unused plugins" folder that Mixcraft doesn't scan or simply untick them in Mixcraft's "manage plugins" dialog?

Re: simple question
Hi,
There's no need to move them. You can untick them if you want. Just having plugins on your computer won't cause performance problems unless you're using the plugins in your project.
One thing to check: go into Plug-Ins preferences, click Edit VST/VSTi folders, and remove any pathnames that aren't actual VST folders. It should have "VST" in the pathname, and sometimes even if it does have VST in the pathname, you don't have any audio plugins in there, like the VSTO folder for Outlook.
Some people are searching folders like the main C:\Program Files\ folder for plugins, which means that Mixcraft has to scan through every DLL file to figure out whether it's a plugin or not. Removing all the non-VST folders from that list can make Mixcraft start up faster.
