Rats, I was hoping that might solve the problem... I may need to contact Akai.

Okay, so far I've got Hybrid, Journeys/Entangled Species, ME80v2.4, MT-PowerDrumKit, and Twist2 all working perfect in VIP. :D

But only 1 out of 264 presets for Acoustica Instruments, 1 out of 14 presets for Studio Drums, 1 out of 66 presets for Expanded, and 1 out of 10 presets for Pianassimo.

But I think since all the presets are showing in VIP with 1 preset working for each... I'll eventually figure it out.

Oh, and I still need to find and load NightLife.

UPDATE: It seems for VIP to be completely compatible with Mixcraft and 3rd party 64-bit VST’s, Akai needs to make their VIP 64-bit plugin compatible with both 32 & 64 bit VST plugins. :(

Oh well, the Akai MPK249 (without VIP) can still select and play Mixcraft’s VST presets and control settings, knobs, faders, transport and etc. :D

EDIT: This was a good learning experience.

Hmm, I just found out from Acoustica Greg that the Acoustica Virtual Instruments are indeed 64-bit... So back to the drawing board again, lol.

Read again what Greg told you. The classic VST’s are 32 bit. :D

Classic Effects are 32-bit, made by a company that will never update them.

Acoustica Instruments, Acoustica Expanded Instruments, and Acoustica Studio Drums are 64-bit.

So are the Acoustica effects. (In 64-bit Mixcraft, of course).

Could the issue be that some of the presets for the Acoustica Instruments use the classic effects? :D

Hmm, I don't know... It's very confusing, as I'm having a very difficult time trying to get it all to work. Also after using the VIP_x64 plugin within Mixcraft sometimes it takes a long time to close Mixcraft too.

Thank you Greg... Where on my C drive are the Acoustica Virtual Instruments Maps?

Hi,

Maps? Here's where the presets are located:

Virtual instrument preset folder:
%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\InstPresets

Effect presets folder:
%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\FX

Maybe your device can't read those?

Hmm, I just changed the User Map Folder path, and no luck... so maybe it can't read them. :(

Greg,
I have the FX presets but my Instpresets folder is empty. Is this normal?

HI,

Whoops, my mistake. That's the folder where custom presets are stored. (And it's the one most people ask about).

The factory virtual instrument presets are here:

%programdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\InstPresets

I have files in my Preset and FX folders.

So I just posted on the Akai Forum asking for help.

Thank you outteh/Tom for posting the Akai Forum link here. :D

The custom part crossed my mind. But I don't have that folder in programdata. I have "MetaPresets7", which seems to have instrument presets in it. Is that the one?
