Possible To Custom Map PC Keyboard?

Post by DavidMcKnight »

I'm a software developer by trade, and back in the mid 90s I would cringe when a user would sneak up behind me, tap me on the shoulder, and ask, "How hard would it be to...." followed by some ad hoc request.

Well today that's me, with the MX devs LOL. Or actually, I'm asking to see if this already exists. I've checked the help system and searched the forum - is it possible to map the PC keyboard to customize the shortcuts? For example, using m to drop markers on the timeline, or s to split the timeline (only because I'm lazy and they're the commands I'm used to)
MX 9 Pro, 64-bit. DIY PC w/ i5, Gigabyte Mobo, 16GB, Windows 10. DIY desk from HomeStudioGuy. Behringer 1820. M-Audio LX-4 monitors. Dyna-Bass 5-string. Strat w EMGs. Seagull acoustic. R0de NT1-A, Behringer C2. M-Audio controller. 27 miles of cable.

Hi,

That's a feature request we do get from time to time. See page 350 of the manual for a list of the current mappings.

For example, Ctrl+/ adds a track marker at the current caret position.

If you have a MIDI controller device, you can also MIDI map adding markers with Mix Menu > MIDI Control Surface.

Hi,

You've got options. You can click on the Help menu in Mixcraft, open the PDF directly from your Acoustica Mixcraft 8 folder, download it, or get a print-on-demand copy here: Mixcraft 8 Manual.
