To snap or not to snap

Is there a hot key to temporarily disable snapping? If not can there be?

Hi,

If you click on the Snap menu, you can see the hot keys listed. The hot key for Off is the tilde: ~

This assumes you're using a U.S. keyboard. if you're using a UK keyboard, it's the ampersand/single quote key.

Note: hotkeys are often listed next to the menu item.
