:x tHIS IS HORRIBLE... I haven't been able to use this program. Has this happened to anyone else?
Everytime I try to switch to another patch I keep getting bumped back to the default mixcraft piano patch.

Try saving and rebooting your computer. It could be a static lock problem.
You could try an IT reset -
On a laptop - power down the machine, unplug it and take the battery out so it has no power source and hold the power button in for between 30 seconds to a minute, then refit the battery, plug the power back it and boot it up again.
On a desktop - shut down the machine, wait for 5 seconds, if there is a switch on the back next to the power cord, switch it off, then unplug the power cord, hold the power button in for 30 to 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and switch the power switch on the back back on again, then switch on the computer with the power button on the front

Hi,

Check and see whether your MIDI clip has program change or bank select commands in it.

What it means is within the midi file or clip you are playing, there is a command message that is telling Mixcraft to change instruments before it plays the file or clip. You need to find the command and delete it.

Hi,

That's right, if you've got unwanted CC commands in there, you can right-click and select "Delete All Controllers."

Both Bank Select and Program Change are capable of switching the virtual instrument on you.

Thank you all for the help and instructions, and I will load it up again when I get home . Not sure how those commands may have landed there as it was only happening to the Mixcraft vst's, ,but not third party plugs..

Have a great day!

Hi,

This problem is more common with imported .mid files.

If that turns out not to be the issue, send us a project file that illustrates the problem.
