Hi again,
I should have state that the left signal track is panned left, the minus left track panned right, the right track panned right, the minus right track panned left. Then put to a submix track to control the side signal level.

[quote="Drdish007"]Hi,
You may be able to do it in mixcraft. I was looking at a circuit on a ms microphone from paia. You have 3 mic's, one center, one left, and one right. It uses 5 signals. 1 - left, 2 - minus left, 3 - right, 4 - minus right, 5 - center./quote]
That definitely works for mid/side recording.
I think the challenge here is mid/side *mixing*, ie. assessing a pre-recorded set of tracks into mid/side components.
Thanks for sharing! Let us know how it goes!

Re: Portion of mid on the side?
Hi,
You could make copies of pre-recorded tracks and set them up as I described earlier to mix as mid/side. I am going to try this with my drum overhead tracks to see if it works and to see how it changes the sound. This would be the ' side ' part.
Just remember to pan the tracks prperly, as described earlier. The left minus right / right minus left setup cancels out signals that are the same in both channels. This should make the stereo mix sound better, more open.
