Recording voices for puppets.

Post by geobee »

Hi all, thought this day would come lol. I need to record some audio for puppets for my grandkids. I would like to change my voice to suit the puppet in use, one being a gorilla, the other a rabbit. Obviously the gorilla needs to be a deeper voice, the rabbit can be much higher. I have tried some effects on mixdown, with not much joy. I tried a couple of free VST's Morphvox Junior and Rovee, both pretty sad. I haven't used Melodyne as yet, would there possibly be anything within that may give me something to work with? Or, any other ideas would be great. Regards. Geoff

Maybe try transposing the vocals, also give Melodyne a try. Also there are some male to female voice converters available and etc on the web.

Hi,

Voice actors are your best bet. I don't know if there's a plugin that would transform someone's voice convincingly. Recruit family and friends.

Don't know about the Gorilla but the Rabbit could maybe use a little hesitant st,st, stutter.
Voice mannerisms will probably make the difference rather than tone by adding character, kids will pick up on personality more than anything else.

You'll only find this stuff on the Mixcraft forums.

I disagree. Anyone who has conversed with a rabbit knows they lisp.

I agree with Greg. both for the best results and the most fun. 8)
