Converted file sounds bad

Post by kentb3050@gmail.com »

So my music distro ask for
"All audio recordings must meet all of the following file requirements:

16 bit (sample size)
44.1 kHz (sample rate)
1411 kbps (bit rate)
All audio recordings must be in stereo WAV or FLAC format."
However I can not change the values in the sound device driver settings, (greyed out) or windows settings. The converted files sound thin even though audio enhancements are off. Any ideas much appreciated. Maybe I need a dedicated converter?

Isn't this is kind of a continuation of your previous thread that was left hanging with unanswered questions?

What format are you converting from? What settings are you selecting? What is your sound device?
There's far too much unknown here to be of much assistance.
Stay in tune, Mark

I thought it might be another video player program but all the enhancements and eq's are off in it now also, however it sounds ok in mixcraft when reloaded from the wav file. I can't figure it out since the windows enhancements are off. I'll take it someplace else and see how it sounds asap.

Hi,

If you're using ASIO mode in Sound Device preferences, click Open Mixer to change the settings for your audio driver.

In regard to the mixed down files sounding wrong, read this: https://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewto ... =4&t=24566
