I've had Mixcraft for a couple of months now but every time I open it, it terrifies me. I have no clue what to do. I have a mic a keyboard and a headset I got all for it because I really want to make music (my favorite genre is rap like Lil darkie and Sybyr) But I haven't really touched the thing. Youtube tutorials are few and far between and really aren't that good for a hands-on learner like me. I was wondering if someone here can give me a hand on starting up in the music industry. I have no money to pay right now as I am currently waiting for the job at Apknite but I am hoping to get one soon so if I can have some contact info from someone I will be willing to pay for some lessons as soon as I possibly can.

I'd suggest the best thing to is start experimenting to learn!
Dont approach it as if your going to make your lifes masterpiece on the first try. You wont!
You learn best by doing, so do!

I cant help much specifically with Rap, but general help, certainly!

You mentioned headset, did you mean headphones?
Maybe set aside the mic and keyboard for the moment and experiment with building some basic practice backing tracks (beats?) From loops.
Locate some relevant video tutorials from the sources mentioned in the previously reply, and begin experimenting! You will likely learn some things very quickly.
Also keep in mind that YouTube videos using other DAW's can also be useful, adapting most concepts to Mixcraft specifically isnt hard.

Dont be concerned with effects or processing, focus on the building blocks of editing and basic functions to start.

When you are ready to proceed to recording something over them, you will have new questions, and we'll be here.

Note: it will be helpful to know some things later, like what kind of mic, keyboard etc. Do you have any kind of audio interface?

As a noobie myself, I would recommend that you take a look at the following videos:

After you have watched those 2 videos, have a play with the loops provided with Mixcraft. Then try recording a track (there's a video on how to record) and playing with some effects.
After that take a look at the Performance tab - this is where you can get real creative.
Look at the Mixcraft University videos often but most importantly don't be daunted by the software and keep at it.

I highly recommend getting an external audio interface (as soon as you can afford one) and watching all the Mixcraft videos on YouTube and at: https://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/v7/h ... orials.php

Then just start experimenting and when you need help with things, ask questions here on the forum.
