No, its a reasonable question.
Mixcraft runs third party vst's, with few exceptions.
It would be best if you were more specific, so those who use or have tried a particular plug-in might be able to chime in....
But in general, most vst2 processors and virtual instruments work.
Some vst3 titles have issues or dont work.
Some midi processors require routing that current versions of Mixcraft doesnt support.
But those exceptions are a minority.
Also keep in mind that if you currently have some plug-ins that you want to try in Mixcraft, you can install and try the fully functional trial version for free.

Is this being addressed in Version 9? It's one of two issues that caused me to turn away from Mixcraft a number of months ago. (The other was the 6 dB level boost in mono plugins.
