Acoustica Compressor
Hey guys!
The meter in the top right corner I see is a VU meter. But is there any way I can check the amount of gain reduction when using the threshold control?

Not that I know of in Mixcraft 8, and word on the street is that Acoustica effects will be making a disappearing act in Mixcraft 9, so it's probably unlikely to see a gain-reduction meter on the Acoustica Compressor going forward.

Re: Acoustica Compressor
Thanks for the info! I see the Classic Compressor has a gain reduction, but not tried it out yet. I was on Reaper for a while and downloaded their free plugin pack which has a great compressor with a calibrated reduction meter

Hmm wow, I remember you saying the Classic effects/processors (compressor, EQ, reverb, delay, etc) might disappear in Mixcraft 9, and now also the Acoustica effects/processors too... What basic third party effects/processors (compressor, EQ, reverb, delay, etc) plugins will be included with Mixcraft 9?Anorax wrote:Not that I know of in Mixcraft 8, and word on the street is that Acoustica effects will be making a disappearing act in Mixcraft 9, so it's probably unlikely to see a gain-reduction meter on the Acoustica Compressor going forward.

Re: Acoustica Compressor
Hi,
When you install Mixcraft 9, there's an option to install the legacy plugins. For Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio, these include: Acoustica Effects, Classic Effects, and the Impluse virtual instrument.
New Tonebooster effects have been added to replace (and improve upon) the legacy effects:
TB MultiFX
TB Reverb
TB Equalizer (Moved from v8 Pro studio)
TB Bus Compressor
TB Barricade
TB De-esser
TB Compressor
And, of course, you can still install the legacy plugins if you want - or for those who don't like the older plugins, they can choose not to install them.

Re: Acoustica Compressor
Can someone please provide a tutorial for using the TB De-esser in Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio?
Re: Acoustica Compressor
Short of that, I learned how to use it by clicking the "listen" light or button. It only plays the s sounds. Then I turned the dial until they either went away or significantly diminished. Then unchecked "listen" and gave 'er a listen. It worked as far as I could tell.jdflowersmusic wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 9:02 pm Can someone please provide a tutorial for using the TB De-esser in Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio?
