Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 9 Weird Effect

Post by Mist001 »

Right, see what people think about this.

If for example, you have six tracks on display. Mute the first track, the third track and the fifth track. The others are unmuted.

Now, what do you see?

I see a very annoying optical illusion. The first muted track looks like it's fading out diagonally from the start to the end. The second, unmuted track looks like it's fading in from the start to the end. The third track looks like it's fading out from the start to the end and so on.

The muted tracks look like they're fading out and the unmuted tracks look like they're fading in and as a result, the tracks look wavy although in reality, they're perfectly straight. It's very, VERY annoying and it's because of the diagonal background lines on the muted tracks.

The way I'm working around it is not by muting the tracks but reducing the volume of the track to zero. I've attempted to add a picture here to illustrate what I'm talking about, so I hope you can see it.

Hi,

Interesting. It seems to be a form of the Zollner Illusion.

Funny, I thought I was the only one that did double takes on this a few times. I actually checked it a couple times. Now I know why! lol :D
