Video Rendering in MX 9 is extremely slow

Post by tonehound »

I have a MP4 video of 4:29 in length that is in its 6th hour of rendering and is only 88% complete. Basically, an an 80 MB video file stretched to coincide with the length of the 4:29 audio (which is 100% MIDI VSTi) compressed to mp3 before linking to the stretched video loop in MX 9 Pro Studio.

This is the same techninque employed with MX 8 Pro Studio video project but rendering under MX 8 never was more than a few minutes and well within an hour with usually a 3 to 4 min video file.

My laptop is a DELL with 8GB RAM and an i7 processor so the horsepower is there as it has been with past projects. This rendering is so slow, it is counterproductive. I tried a smaller file yesterday with similar results in MX 9. Frustrated, I ported it to MX 8 for rendering and had results within the hour. I gave up on that file with MX 9 after 4 hours and only 66% rendering executed.

Sounds like some optimization is warranted with MX 9 Pro Studio and video? Thanks! :D

Hi,

Were you rendering to the same format and same quality settings in Mixcraft 9 that you used in 8? Having really high quality settings can slow down rendering.

Yes, Greg. I went both ways with resolution with similar results in rendering. Seemed to be the same speed in completing the render.

After finally completing the render process the file failed to play.

Hi,

Are you rendering exactly the same thing you're rendering in Mixcraft 8? I tried rendering something in 9 and the time seemed normal.

Are you using 64-bit Mixcraft in both cases? Sometimes 32-bit Mixcraft can run out of RAM while rendering.

Are you using build 436 of Mixcraft 9?

Hi,
I rendered a 14:05minute video using Mix 9 Recording Studio without any issues. I have 16gb of ram, and an i5 quad core CPU. My audio was WAV. I had rendered it a few times while working on my project, as it was my first attempt at doing a video in Mixcraft.
You can view my video here; https://youtu.be/rQCCBerr37U .
I rendered to MP4. I had 4 music pieces I recorded in Mixcraft, which I put on an audio track on the video project. This helped with placing the different video clips where I wanted to go with the music.

after checking again - the problem is with some settings while converting to mp4 - the software crashes and the render is very slow
i found a solution to convert to avi and afterwards to convert with other software to mp4

Finally found the solution

i read at another forum aboout the same issue with other software (not mixcraft)

The solution is to render to the same video resolution and the same frame rate of the source video file in project and to check the box set a custom frame rate

i did it several time and no issues at all and rendering is also very fast.
