sidechain compression in Mixcraft 9

Post by RobAsticles »

Hello Community,

is there a way to do a sidechain compression in Mixcraft 9?

in MX8 there was a fx-plugin, that could be used in one track as sender. In the other track you could use the same plugin then as receiver,

How can this be done in the new Mixcraft 9?

BTW. is there a way now to do sidechaining with Halion 6 to record samples directly ? in mixcrfaft 8 it wasnt possible.
Why is there a "sidechain" option in some plugins and in others there is none?

Thanks

Hi,

We dropped the Sidekick plugin in Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio because it's no longer needed. If a plugin offers a sidechain option, you can use that directly.

Generally, it's compression plugins that would have sidechaining, but not all of them offer that feature.

Previously, we added the Audio Control feature, that allows you to use audio to control plugins. You can use that instead of sidechaining for those plugins that don't offer it.

Mixcraft 9 introduces LFO control as well, which allows you to control plugins using various types of waveforms.

Hello Greg,

do you know a (good) FREE compressor plugin with the sidechaining possibility in Mixcraft?
Even the compressor plugins in the PRO version don't have an sidechain input.

Thanks and best regards
