9: undocking then redocking mangles stuff up

If you undock a panel then redock(?) it without moving it on screen, then everything returns to normal. If you move a panel before redocking then text size and many other things get 'adjusted.'

Especially annoying is the "File menu" or whatever it's called up top.

At first I thought it was because I had two monitors enabled (same res, didn't drag anything to 2nd monitor) but it happens with only one monitor enabled as well.

Hi,

A couple of people have reported this. It doesn't happen on all computers.

I could get this to happen on my office computer, but two other people couldn't.

If you go into Windows Display Settings and scroll down a bit, is the scaling set to 150% or something? Try setting it back to 100%, then restart Mixcraft.

Is this an issue where you might run compatibility? Right click on icon in desktop, click compatibility and follow instructions, it worked for me.

Hi,

I've got some new information now: the reason this doesn't happen to everyone who has changed their scaling from 100% is that it only happens if you go into Advanced scaling settings (right below the scaling setting), and turn on "Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry." If you have that option turned off, the problem doesn't occur.

So, a workaround for those who want to scale their fonts larger, would be to go into Display Settings, select Advanced scaling settings, and turn off the option called "Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry."

In the meantime, the software devs will try to determine a good way to prevent this from happening in the first place.

Right clicking on the desktop Mixcraft 9 icon then choosing "Troubleshooting Compatibility" and following the instruction also fixed that problem for me too.

Hi,

That means the compatibility troubleshooter is likely turning off the "blurry" setting I mentioned above. Or maybe it's setting scaling to 100%.

Hi,

Okay, I ran the compatibility troubleshooter and told it I was having scaling problems. It changed the DPI setting to "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by Application."

This also fixes the problem, while leaving the other two settings I mentioned in place. So, if you want to scale things up in Display Settings, and also have the fix blurry apps option turned on, you can enable that setting.

However, this will hopefully all be a moot point.

Yes, I have scaling set to 150%. Old eyes.

1) Turning off Fix Blurry Applications did not change the behavior (for me).

2) Running the compatibility troubleshooter fixed the top Menu Text, but everything else is now teensy weensy and hard to read.

More info:

When I first undock, but before I try to move the undocked window, everything is the same:

Hi,

Does that all go away if you scale at 100%?

Yes, it does.

Hi,

Try this:

1. right-click on the Mixcraft icon and select Properties, then select the Compatibility tab.
2, click "Change high DPI settings."
3. Check mark "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" and make sure Application is selected.

Save that setting and see if it fixes the problem. It does for me.

Should also be:

4. Restart Mixcraft if it's running.

Well, yes, that works, Greg, but that just means everything starts "small" (normal, unscaled) and stays that way. I want everything scaled up to 150 so I can read things comfortably.

Hi,

Try scaling everything to 150% with that DPI option turned on (restart Mixcraft if necessary).
