Big Chop
Hi Greg, et. al., is there a way to make a major edit when some tracks are grouped/nested? I need to cut out an entire solo section and when I select it accurately on the timeline above, only the first few tracks before the first nested group cut. Is there an elegant way to cut/delete all of the information on all of the tracks in one fell swoop? If so, what would be the proper command, and is there a way to merge those tracks back together without having to individually select the two sections of each track and merge them one at a time? Thanks!
Best, Warren

Re: Big Chop
Have you tried selecting an area of the timeline, then using "Remove Selected Time"?

Re: Big Chop
Thank you, Anorax! I did not see that! Mixcraft comes thru again!
On a related note guys, Say you're selecting/highlighting a region by dragging. Is there a way to add to or subtract from it? Say you have to zoom way in to get an accurate selection but you captured to much/little- once you've let go of the mouse button, is there a keyboard command to modify it without losing the existing selection? As an example, my older, primitive DAW lets me Shift+left click to grab the beginning/end of a highlighted region. Thank you!

Re: Big Chop
Greg, I'm not seeing that behavior here (Windows 10), each time I shift/click, I lose the original selection. Thanks.

Re: Big Chop
Hi,
Which version and build of Mixcraft are you using? Does it work if you click on empty track?

Re: Big Chop
No, it doesn't Greg. Using v. 8.1 Build 418 64-bit. Thanks

Hi,
It works for me in that version. You've made a blue selection box, right?
Try the other Shift key. After making a selection, hold it down, then click.

Re: Big Chop
Greg, Unless I'm doing something boneheaded, neither works. When a region is highlighted in blue, either inside the region or at the edge, a shift/left-click/hold/drag starts a new selection. :<(

Hi,
Just a shift click. Don't hold or drag.

Re: Big Chop
Greg, aside from a musician/producer, I'm also a technical writer who documents software- amazing how just the right words can make all the difference! It works! Thanks for going the distance. After dragging out a selection, simply Shift+Click to add/subtract- no further dragging! Yeah, Mixcraft.
Another question from today? I was trying to save a track out as a WAV. The info on that track was already edited from an existing sound file. How could I save it as a unique file? Thanks!

Re: Big Chop
Hi,
You can solo the track, and then mix down to wav.
Or, you can get fancy and use the Mix Down to Stems option under the File menu, and just choose to mix down the one track.

Re: Big Chop
Fantastic, Didn't realize I'd have the option to choose individual stems. And, soloing before the mixdown is good too. Learned some key things today. Thanks Greg!
