Greg has it!
Yes, if you set ALL clips to project tempo in the sound tab, you can change the playrate (and record) at will - just by changing the project tempo.
So for example if tempo is 120 BPM, you can drop to say 98 BPM, perform and record the part, then change back to 120. All good! :D

This doesn't work for me, maybe you're doing something different to me?

I select all clips, set them to use project tempo, then I change the BPM. Everything still plays out of time with each other.

Hi,

I wonder if it's because Mixcraft can't accurately determine the tempo of some of the clips? I mean, some audio clips don't have any tempo.

At any rate, your feature suggestion has been noted... again. I updated the feature request for Mx9. Thanks for the suggestion!

I suspect that an edited clip is going to cause problems for such an operation if the front (left hand side) of it has been edited freehand and is not locked into the grid.

In any case the method is like taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut. All that is needed is a facility to slow down the playback speed.

AJ - just tried it again on another project and it works fine.
Open the project, hit CTRL +A (everything is selected) This was a mixture of MIDI and audio clips.
Then open sound tab and select Use Project Tempo.

Hi,

It worked for me when I tried it, too. What's different about the clips that go out of whack? They are definitely using the project tempo?

Did you have any clips not locked into the grid - i.e., edited freehand?

I don't know what is different about the clips that are out of whack. Yes, they are definitely using project tempo.

Hi,

I was wondering if it was related to that. I know that you do a lot of micro fades and edits on your audio clips.

Anyway, the feature suggestion is updated for Mixcraft 9.

I had the same issue with an earlier build of MX9 PS-64 . Support had me try beta (at the time) build 440. That fixed it for me. Not sure which build you're using aj . I just updated to build 447 and it is still working as expected, i.e. , using the process described earlier in this thread ; set each clip to use project tempo, (from the Project tab).

...Just a thought, The Beatles with George Martin would Vari speed the whole track down to sing parts and then return it to normal, great Technic for sure ....PLEASE INCLUDE THIS FEATURE SOON IN YOUR FUTURE UPDATES IF POSSIBLE...
