Mixcraft 9 "Program not responding" when saving

Upgraded from Mixcraft 8 to 9. Never had any issues running 8 on my Dell Win 10 laptop. Now with Mixcraft 9 when I go to File Save As, Mixcraft stops responding and the only option is close to the program - and I lose what I was working on. Not a good situation. I tried to search for this issue but didn't see anything. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi,

Do you have version 9.0 build 442? If not, try updating. Choose "Check For Updates" from the help menu, then quit Mixcraft as the patch downloads in order to install it.

If that suggestion doesn't help, the next time the problem happens, quit Mixcraft and send us your Mixcraft-log.txt file.

To find the mixcraft-log file, highlight the following line and press Ctrl+C to copy it:

Press the Windows Key+R to pop up the Run box in Windows. Click in the Run box and press Ctrl+V to paste in the line from above. Finally, click OK to go to the location of the mixcraft-log.txt file. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file along with a brief description of the problem.

Just noticed Build 442 (thought it would notify of updates automatically) and installed it. So far no problem with a dummy file with no data. Will try later with a real project.

Mixcraft 8 is still installed on my computer. Can I just tell Windows to uninstall it? Will that affect any of my Mixcraft 8 projects or affect Mixcraft 9 in any way? Thanks

Hi,

Yes, you can just go ahead and uninstall it. It will only uninstall the things that the Mixcraft 8 installer installed in the first place.

Mixcraft 9 is the most terribe thing that has happened in my life.

Don't browse around the forum or internet trying to find answers, submitting tickets is useless - Problems of crashes that I have reported 1 year ago are still not fixed.

Just uninstall Mixcraft 9 and install Mixcraft 8 until you find a better daw to use. DOn't throw away your money for nothing.

Hi,

He's not a troll, he's frustrated because he's having technical support problems with Mixcraft 9, included a corrupted project file. I wish I knew how people were managing to get corrupted project files from time to time. I've never run into it.
