Mixcraft 9 "Program not responding" when saving

I want to publicly take back the bad things I've said about my favorite DAW.

My problem was using free VST's like HeadCrusher and Density MKIII.

Once I shut them down I've had no problems so far...

I am sorry about rage-posting It was a stressful day yesterday, my friend came from another city to lay down some tracks and my hands were tied the whole day with the DAW problems.

So let me make up for It by being honest: I've tried a good amount of DAWs so far and none of them meet my needs like Acoustica MIxcraft.
I started on recording small project on Mixcraft 4 (the trial version cause I never had the money to buy It back then) and now I'm to the 9.


We've all learned a very important lesson here today boys and girls. Always check your facts and be patient about what you say. Someone is on the other side doing hard work trying to meet your needs and give you a good service, won't help If you are being an arrogant impatient douche.
I will sure have more patience next time If any problems come up.

The project file itself. In some cases, the project file is full of null characters - there's no data. The audio files and everything would be intact. This is more common in old versions of Mixcraft, I think. I didn't examine the project file in this case. But I think the main issue was the Headcrusherfree plugin causing crashes.

You're welcome! You have to keep your eye on those free plugins.

Are you sure that DensityMKIII is one of the culprits? I couldn't get it to crash. Maybe you were using it in a certain way that I'm not? I tried it on three MIDI tracks with sidechaining and automation and I could still mix down.

I wish that was the case with my project Greg! I use it to blend the Kick with the Bass guitar and let the snare cut through the Mid-range. Nothing more than that and It freezes like crazy.

Whenever I've got Density used as a sidechain on a submix it has problems loading, I normally just disable it to launch the project and put it back on when the project has been loaded. Took me a while to work it out, but I noticed projects would have a 2 stage loading cycle, and fall down on the second. I've been too lazy to look for other side chaining comps..

Have to b honest, It still freezes from time to time even without those VST's but not that drasticly (nothing that I can't cope with)..I wish Mixcraft 9 was a smooth operating machine...

What do you mean by freezes? Does it freeze completely, or is it just taking a long time to think about something, and then it starts up again?

No Greg, I gave it like a 3 minute break of freezing and producing this horror sounds which affect the cortex of the brain and It didn't stop.

The newest thing since 5 minutes ago Is that my latest project without those VST - can't be open and It's "corrupt" again.

I don't understand what IS the deal with these corrupt projects??

This is the first time I'm running into "corrupt projects" in mixcraft 9.

This was impossible in the earlier versions no matter how much I doodled them.

I can't open my latest MIx Greg...
