Measure in a new track feature suggestion (Auto Track)

Post by Impulseman »

Hi,
I'm often working with the mouse when adding tracks or in the Piano roll section, so I like to choose the number of measures I would lay down before I start 'mousing notes in a track' so to say, in the track itself and in the piano roll. I.E.: Let's say that I want 86 measures in my song, so by clicking a certain function to allow to choose or not, I could then write down the total measures to pull. I did a little capture to show what I mean by adding a feature.
With a button (On or Off to press down) to open the feature, one can choose between the number of measures or time to auto-drag in the track and in the piano roll. In my example, 86 meas.

It would be a great help if I could choose (by numbers) how many measures or minutes/seconds to insert in the chosen track before starting to work on it.

Hope you will understand what I'm suggesting... Wishing it's possible to do so...

Hi Impulseman! What about the sound selection window, does this not do what you ask? Choose "length" then drag the piano roll area to match. Do not use loops or the main track will show seperate loops, use length and the loops will merge to a contiuous track as shown.

Hi and thanks Mick,
Of all the time I worked with MX, I hadn't thought of that for a second. I was always checking that section to verify my data and change this and that, rename the track, tempo and transpose. Even played with this parameter but it never hit my mind that this IS the way to do it.

How dumb am I!

Ok, let's say I didn't write this message, lol! Forget about it gyus!

Good day and thanks again!
Happy new Year!

Thank you jlouvar!
All the best for 2020!
Glad to know I'm not the only one. I guess it's this time when you're facing the goal that you don't see it. So visible that it becomes invisible.
