Mixcraft 9 with Behringer X-Touch

Hi all,
Been looking at Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio for a while now and it seems like it has gone down well with everyone on here so I am looking to give it an upgrade and transition up from MX 8. One of the main things I haven't heard mentioned is the Mackie Control Protocol for use with Control Surfaces, as you can see in the advertising post for MX9 the guy in the photo is using a Behringer X-Touch and it looks like (in the photo at least) that more features are enabled. Currently in MX8 most of the features of that surface do not work/ work not as intended, and my question is would anyone at Acoustica or on the forums happen to know if the Protocol is better supported in the most recent version than previous before I upgrade?
