Piano roll tempo issue

Post by outteh »

Might be an issue, maybe not. On a midi file, the playback tempo matches the project tempo when you use the main play control. If the midi file has an original tempo ( was created on a previous project or tempo setting ) it plays back at that tempo when you use the piano file playback button, regardless that the sound file says follow project tempo. Mixcraft 9, current version. :D

I think this has been the default behavior of the piano roll, all the way back to Mixcraft 5. I guess this happens because when you use the play button in the sound tab, you're listening to just the original sound or midi absent the context of the project. You probably have the same thing happen when you listen to loops that have a different tempo than the project file.

Hi,

Yeah, the Sound tab is kind of like a preview for what the original sound or MIDI file sounds like. If you want to hear it with effects and automation and stuff, play it on the track.
