Video Tutorials For Mixcraft 9.

I have learning disabilities and before I found Mixcraft I tore my hair out trying to learn other DAWs. I was recently thinking of screwing my courage up and trying Pro Tools but Mixcraft 9 seems to be as complete. When I screw my courage up to get a new and powerful computer with windows 10 I'll probably go with Mixcraft because it's stable and intuitive.

I don't like technology much. My ideal car for instance would have a manual transmission, crank up windows, no anti-lock brakes, no power steering, limited computer control, naturally aspirated engine but maybe a super charger.

I doubt if I would ever use pitch correction. I would rather sing the part over or punch in. I use MIDI instruments and loops. I'm OK with that most of the time.

I write songs and occasionally compose classical music. I'll use virtual instruments frequently because many are indistinguishable from the real thing and I can get what I want a lot of the time.

The Mixcraft tutorials were a big selling point for me. I have musician friends who are intimidated by DAWs and I send them Mixcraft videos hoping they will get off their butts and start tracking. I tell my cousin to start recording when he bitches to me about his band mates.

I've blocked to many punches with my head. My mental skills are compromised as a result but I am also very right brained as are a lot of creative. In a perfect world I would not be doing the mixing and mastering. All I would be doing is writing. There are people much better with the engineering stuff that I am. That said, I enjoy it but it takes away from composing. Had it not been for Mixcraft the only people who would be hearing my work would be people who heard it live.

I would like to see some Mixcraft tutorials that not only teach the software but teach mixing and mastering. Keep the video coming!

Hi TheHound,

Maybe somebody, somewhere would collab with you. You compose, they mix and master, etc, etc.

What I'd really like to see is some tutorials specifically on Tone Boosters plugins. Not much on Google or YouTube.. I'm sure they're great; it's just I'm fumbling around in the dark at the moment :|

If I come across somebody that would be great. My mixes have improved https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rq47u

I needs another pair of ears for certain. I found some good videos on youtube that taught basic mixing that showed me a good procedure once you have all or most of your tracks. When I did the song Angel I used a drum loops, did a guide vocal and I played the guitar tracks and bass track and then set the levels at -6 db. Then I laid the vocals and harmony. I tried to get it to sound as good as it could with no effects but some EQ. Then I added effects. After that I "sweetened' the song by adding more to the arrangement using virtual instruments using the MIDI editor. I added some "ahs", viola and French horns.

I used the video editor to add a picture and lyrics. I'm looking at Power Director or Cool Edit to do more complex videos. I really would love to hook up with creative and technically proficient people.

This is a Valentines Day video for my wife. She hasn't heard it yet.

Trevor,

The FOM channel will be getting to these in the near future when we get to mixing down the example project.
