Record Click Track?

In MC 7 Can I record the metronome to a track? I have a drum track sent to me that is off just a little. I'd like to line up the tracks to the click waveform. Is that possible and how do I do it?
Thanks,
Ron
BTW I couldn't find any tutorials that explained it.

Hi,

You could add a virtual instrument track with a wood block or some other similar sharp sound, and then add 3 high notes and one low note to a measure. Finally, drag the end of the clip to the right as far as you want.

I do this as a matter of course on every project. So much easier to use than the grid, which changes on zoom in/out and is very confusing.

You can also do it if you have an external audio interface with a headphone jack.
Set the required tempo, set metronome to record during playback and recording.
Then just use a guitar jack cable from the AI's headphone back into one of its channels - select and arm that channel and hit record! 8)

Thanks. That's what I had to do on my last recorder. I was hoping there was a way to route it in MC.

Evidently the simple answer is sadly "no." We can all find workarounds, but I agree it would be much more precise to have Mixcraft provide a way to offer an audio or MIDI click track without having to MacGyver it in. ;)

I my situation, I have a free metronome app on my phone, and a free voice recording app. So I opened them both, then started the recorder and then the metronome (at the bpm I needed). I recorded that for the duration I needed. Then I went to the "listen" screen of the voice recording app, clicked "share" to Gmail and emailed the file to myself.

Then from within my DAW I created a new audio track and added the sound file, aligned everything and voilà.

This will be a feature request...

Hope this helps,

Andre

Hi,

My suggestion was pretty easy.

woodblockclicktrack.mid
MIDI file with wood block metronome.
