The program can't start because api-ms-win....

Post by Scythe »

This happens every time I run Mixcraft 9 latest build.

the full message is:

The program can't start because api-ms-wincrt-runtime-1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.Try reinstalling the program to fix this

I just reinstalled and it's still happening...
when I click OK on this message, it does this again and then loads properly but then ME80 is missing some sounds (I opened another thread about this a while back).
ME80 is checked enabled in manage plugins.

Should I submit a ticket?

Please advise
Thank you in advance x

Hi,

Once in a while, some of the Memorymoon plugins want to be run as administrator.

Quit Mixcraft if it's running, then try right-clicking on Mixcraft's icon and selecting "Run As Administrator."

Running as administrator didn't work either.
Should I submit a ticket and what info do you need for that?

tbh - at this point along with another strange issue, I'm beginning to regret upgrading to MX9 as it seems unstable to me...
MX 8 ran like a dream with no issues...

Hi,

Did you add any new plugins around the time this started happening?

Get it to happen again, then quit Mixcraft and send us your mixcraft-log.txt file.

To find the mixcraft-log file, highlight the following line and press Ctrl+C to copy it:

Code: Select all

%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\
Press the Windows Key+R to pop up the Run box in Windows. Click in the Run box and press Ctrl+V to paste in the line from above. Finally, click OK to go to the location of the mixcraft-log.txt file. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file along with a brief description of the problem.

Ok - this is DEFINITELY weird!
This issue has been happening consistently since I downloaded MX9
so today I fire up MX9 to get it to happen again and follow instructions to submit a ticket and guess what!

MX9 loaded properly!
quit tried again - and it loaded properly...no api-ms-blah blah pop issue!

I even had all the relevant browser windows ready with the acoustica submit ticket page open and waiting.

maybe my computer is a descendant of EDGAR from the 80's movie Electric Dreams lol!

well, if it happens again, I will submit a ticket then
ty xx

Hi,

Sometimes a computer just needs a good shut down & restart. Who knows.
