Hi,
I find I'm using the Acoustic Bass (Strings - Plucked) included with Mixcraft a lot. Can any of you recommend an even better VST bass to purchase (or free)?
Thanks - hope you're all doing well!

This was sort of discussed a couple of weeks ago here.

Before I purchase anything right now I would check out the new EZBass product coming from Toontrack on May 19th.
Here is their new trailer.

Both Waves Bass Fingers and Bass Slapper are on sale right now, a buddy of mine likes his. The caveat is whether you want to mess with Waves Central (their install platform)

New EZBass video showing the features. Looks nice to me and the price in US Dollars is going to be $179. The midi tracker looks interesting.

Plus the best feature is you do not have to put up with a real bass player.

Unfortunately Toontrack isn't so great about sales. They have sales often but don't really do big discounts, I also don't like the the expansion pack model, I get it but I don't like it. I have EZD2 with a few expansions but don't want or need the dozens of packs for more $. I'm assuming that the bass will be more of the same.

I also have EZD2 but with no expansions. I’ll probably get EZBass but drought I’ll get any expansions.

Re: Best Bass VST
Despite my enthusiasm for EZ products in general - I've spent almost the whole day comparing EZBass and Modo Bass - and just bought the latter
I feel EZBass is good for songwriters who want to get a quick bassline down and then tweak it. But I went for Modo because I'm a well experienced bassist (60 years +) and would lay down my own interpretations anyway.
Modo has a great variety of bass models (currently 14) and almost endless articulations and other tweaks.
Because I have other I.K. Multimedia products, I was able to crossgrade for just 99 Quid UK.
Now: I'll have to spend the next couple of weeks just playing... What fun!
