Can I Add More to a Track Already Created?

Post by GTR_RO »

I created a track and want to continue adding more to the same track, same instrument. Is this possible? Thanks.

Yes, arm the track and hit record to add more.

Yes, but make sure that your recording mode is set to Takes or Overdub and not Replace. Check out page 83 in the Mixcraft manual.

You could also just record to a new track and edit them together later.

But I would warn that its often very difficult to match the tone and timbre of recordings made in different sessions.
Even with the exact same instruments, gear and settings, recordings can often sound just enough different to make "punch ins" difficult to make "fit" without being noticeable.
Its a skill that gets better with experience, but far from as easy as people often expect!
I suggest whenever possible- getting as much material for a track as needed, recorded all in one sitting as possible. It saves a lot of effort later.

Good luck, and let us know how you are getting on!
Stay in tune, Mark
