Bitrate dilemma
Hi, I'm receiving files tomorrow from a studio. They will be at 24bit/48kHz. However in Mixcraft settings I only see 32bit/44.1kHz as an option. Only if I choose Wave will it give me the option. Is there something I'm doing wrong on my end?
I'm using M-Audio Fast Track Ultra plugged USB (I don't have the walmart adapter).

Re: Bitrate dilemma
No, your not doing anything wrong... If you want/need that option use Wave.

OK thanks, I will do just that tomorrow. Sometimes I get a chipmunk effect on tracks and that leaves me puzzled...

Hi,
In ASIO mode, click Open Mixer and change the sample rate there.

Re: Bitrate dilemma
I have the exactly same problem and postet it in my thread:
https://forums.acoustica.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26313
the bit depth can only be configured if im using wave.
but sure i wanna use asio with my asio-driven interface.
the sounds i receive from a studio have 24 bit/44,1khz.
the 44,1khz can be configured in my mixcraft, the bit depth is set/overwritten by mixcraft to 32 bit?!

When using ASIO, click Open Mixer to open up your audio driver and change its settings.
Ignore the 32-bit you see at the bottom of the screen if you've got it set to 24-bit or whatever in Sound Device preferences. Why does it show 32-bit? For some reason, that's what ASIO devices are reporting to Windows, and we're just displaying that.
You can check the bit depth of your recorded audio from within Mixcraft like so:

Re: Bitrate dilemma
Hi,
There must be some way to change it to 24-bit if that's what you want. Check your hardware documentation, or contact Native Instruments.
Maybe there's a utility program you can run?

@RollingStone
Another option - why not ask your personal hired professional audio engineer?
From your other thread: <snip> "i'm not in this stuff. this all does my audio engineer guy, i'm "just" the musician and software user." and <snip>> "i assume as a professional engineer he is aware of the basics you mentioned above", and etc. https://forums.acoustica.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26312

i actually already asked him and he told me nothing more than that in his cubase he could set it to 24 bit and story over.
but he also said its not that dramatically for us. whatever this means.

Hi,
You didn't bounce that audio clip or anything? That's the original file you recorded with your Komplete Audio 6 in Mixcraft?

Re: Bitrate dilemma
Hi,
Make sure to go to the driver for your interface and make the settings right there first, as Mixcraft takes its cues on what options to provide you based on your driver. For instance, if I only have 44.1k/16 bit selected in my Line 6 TonePort driver, that's all that shows up in Mixcraft. If I change it to 24 bit then I have that option in Mixcraft.
The chipmunk effect is probably from differing sample rates.
Best,
Nathan
