I do a lot of detailed midi editing and have become frustrated with the refusal of Mixcraft to register a mouse click to move the cursor.
You'd think it's click here and the cursor follows, but not necessarily. I had this problem on my older Dell, and blamed the box, but this is a decent machine, 8-core i7 3Ghz, 16G RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER graphics card etc. My gamer son-in-law is jealous.
Trying to see what is happening, it appears if I click (sequence is not running) exactly on a grid point it frequently is ignored and does not move to that spot, although the little 'cursor was here' shows it registered. Sometimes happens as well in between, in open space(I'm not clicking on an active event, just the window. And the data is piano performance, sus pedal cc64 the only non-pitch event, so nothing to cause the system to glitch.
Any ideas? I get involved with minutiae of timing and position, and this issue breaks the flow and slows the process considerably.
Thanks.
Why does the cursor not not update when clicked ?

Hi,
What is your current snap setting?
Also: go into Interface settings and see if the following option is selected: "Set Playback Indicator When Clicking Inside Sound Workspace."

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, the setting is checked. And I normally have snap off on the Sound midi display but set to 1 bar or 1/4 note in the tracks window.
A typical piece will contain 2 to 4 24-bit stereo audio tracks from Band-In-A-B ox and a midi piano (Pianoteq) that may contain multiple takes. Nothing special that would trip up the system, AFAIK, Focusrite 8i6 i/f fast computer.

Hi,
Having the snap set to 1 bar would cause the problem you describe.

Problem continues, snap IS off. Same issue. I can live with it but it slows me down a lot. Any other suggestions? Anybody else having this problem?

Re: Why does the cursor not not update when clicked ?
These are several times this occurs, the one I see clearly is at about 6 sec on the left side on the original video, but too big to upload. I included a picture of the one I could capture, that is what it looks like when it fails to move the cursor. There are 3 or 4 others, follow the cursor bar and look for just a 1-character high indicator, followed by a bar on the next click.
Anu ideas appreciated. I usually have the edit grid off on the midi editor and 1 bar or 1/4 on the track window like it is here. But the same thing happens if both windows are set No grid.
