I watched the Mixcraft university video on video editing and got half of this question answered.
The demonstration shows a still image of a logo cross fading into a video clip so that at a specific time, both images are superimposed.
Is it possible to place a still image in the middle of the video clip with the same effect? When I try this, the video clip immediately switches to the still image and then back depending how long I have the still image. (Jumps between 100% video and 100 % Still image with no cross fading)
Hope that makes sense...

Re: Video Question - Cross Fading
Hi,
Maybe try splitting the video clip around the center of the still image? With maybe a little gap?
Otherwise, you could put the still image on another lane and then use effects to fade one lane in and one out.

Re: Video Question - Cross Fading
Thanks, the splitting idea works pretty well.
Didn't know you could add lanes to the video track ! That will be helpful.
Can you automate something like "Brightness" on the lanes independently? I could not figure that out.
thanks again!

Hi,
Nope, you can't layer video or stills, only text.

D'oh! You're right. You can't do effects by lane.
Overlapping the ends of video clips automatically crossfades, so that's the way to go.

Re: Video Question - Cross Fading
You can have as many effect automation lanes as you want. I had like 25 going in this video, lol:

Hi,
Right, but the automation applies to all the lanes in the video track. There's no option to, say, just apply lightness just to the first lane.
