YouTube issue after using MC9

Post by ste_p0270 »

Morning all,

Bit of an odd one this...

After I've been using MC9PS, YouTube videos refuse to load... basically get the spinning circle until it times out. The only way to
get YT to work again is a reboot.

I've got quite a powerful PC and fast fibre BB (Win 10 Pro, Ryzen 3600X / 16GB DDR4 3200 / 1TB NVME / RX5700XT GPU and Virgin 350 line)

Anyone else had / have similar problems? I've tried YT after running Lightroom / Photoshop etc and it's fine, just seems to have an issue
after using MC9.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, nope... The problem must be caused by something else other than MX9PS because I’m also using MX9PS and YouTube works good for me. Maybe a buggy third party plug-in?

Hi jlouvar, could be the case. Narrowing it down will be pretty difficult though.

Go to Windows sound settings and make sure they're set so that your I/O is default playback and record device, also make sure the bit, baud and sample rates are the same. ie 24bit, 44.100, 512 is a good starting point. Any time you change your settings they have to match.

Hi M,

Opening MC9 reveals 44100Hz, 32Bits, 2.9ms

The setting in Windows Sound seem to be 44100Hz 24Bits with no option to change to 32Bits

I'd be quite happy with everything at 24Bits tbh, but can't / don't understand how I get the two
lots of settings to pair.

Hi,

Which mode are you using in Mixcraft's Sound Device preferences? WaveRT, ASIO or Wave?

The problem you describe can happen if you're using WaveRT with exclusive mode turned on.

Hi Greg,

ASIO.. I have a Behringer UMC204HD as my interface

Driver = ASIO
ASIO Device = UMC ASIO Driver
Use Device Preferred Settings = unchecked
Sample Rate = 44100Hz
Buffer Size = 128
Latency = 2.9ms
Force Single CPU = unchecked
Use High Priority Threads For Audio Engine = checked

Right click on speaker select open sound settings, scroll down to sound control panel, you'll see all audio devices you have. Highlight sound device, select properties then advanced. Mine says 2 channel 24 bit 4800 Hz (Studio Quality). You want this to match what you have set in your sound settings in MC settings.

I think there is a conflict somewhere. Youtube won't play because it's competing with Mixcraft for use of the same audio codecs/hardware. Do you have the latest driver v4.59 for the interface? Try unchecking allow apps to take exclusive control over this device and give exclusive mode apps priority in Windows sound settings. Also try using the same sample rate that Youtube uses. Also try unchecking exclusive mode in Core Audio, even if you're not using it.

Morning guys,

apologies for the late reply.. had a bit of an issue last night with a leaky roof after we had a storm
so was busy mopping up.

I'll hopefully have a look at the settings again later and try your suggestions.

Thanks again, Ste
