Default drum map priority + omni sampler

I recently added some instances of omni sampler to my kontakt template that I use for drums (to trigger one shot samples/layers) - I've set kontakt to use my custom drum map by default, but the omni sampler instances take precendence and replace that drum map with their own, meaning I have to manually select my kontakt map when I create a new MIDI clip. Will omni sampler always overriede the default map on the piano roll? is there a way to overcome this?
