New Project, Picking the Right Key

Post by DanTheSongwriter »

If I'm setting up a new song in A minor, should I say the key is C (the relative major) or A and then let MX9 figure out if it's major or minor?

Thanks

C on the transport (only major keys are options based on sharps and flats)

A min on the clip detail

Where is the clip detail located? I looked it up in the Help Menu but didn't see anything.

Thanks

Be careful when setting the key in the detail area. You may not want to transpose anything that's already written.

Which version are you using? Mine doesn't have the minor key distinction. I have the Project Key which lets me pick a key, as usual, and a Transpose tab which allows me to change it up or down in semitones.
