Recently doing stuff Mixcraft again (upgraded to 9 Pro Studio).
Noticed there is now an option to store your track audio as FLAC.
My understanding was that WAV format was always the best as it was lossless and uncompressed. However, isn't FLAC lossless also? Does it make sense for me to record some tracks in FLAC format to save space? Would I lose a lot if I switch to FLAC from WAV? I ask because I often collaborate with musicians remotely and we send post files/takes to share.
Just curious.

Re: FLAC and WAV
Hi,
Yes, FLAC is lossless, so the audio quality is the same as wav, but the files might be around a third smaller than an equivalent wav file. Not as compressed as MP3, but with superior audio quality.
The downside? Not as many programs support FLAC - so check and see whether everybody else can use the files.
