Greetings from DSPplug

Post by DSPplug »

Hi I'm Robert from DSPplug and I like the Mixcraft 9 software. I've mentioned to the Acoustica people that I make DSP software and wondered if they might bundle a few of My products free for their customers with the Mixcraft software.

Here's the youtube video about that:

There's a free version of the freq3 eq you can use for anything you like, found here:

Thanks, and I hope health finds you in these hard times.

Hi and welcome Robert.

I would like to suggest that it would be useful to describe your plug-in better, and explain how it is different or unique.
For example, what does the panning function in your Eq do exactly?
Stay in tune, Mark

Robert,

Some further feedback for you.

First of all, I like what you have done but Mark is right - you need documentation.

I found your plugin very intuitive to use. A couple of points, redesign the About screen - font size is way too small, colours are too in your face and the modal window X to get out of the window is too small and obscured through your colour scheme.

Band 8 was fiddly to use when using scroll mode with the mouse ie enlarging/ unenlarging with the mouse dependent on the position of Band 8 - this might be true of other bands too but given the short time I have used the software it appeared that you have to make sure a band is not close to other adjacent bands.

How do you use Power/Analyser/Limiter?

The +- indicators ! These chars are too small to read- perhaps a change of foreground colour or a tick mark would help

Allright, some documentation would be good. I'll get on that; noted about the synbols for the dropdown menu, but keep in size they will change with your chosen font size. So, that is really a windows thing.

However, in the way of the modal. I'll get on that and change it tonight. I'll also make the font larger, np. it's really not all that unique, just fast. In fact it's almost identical to the Fruity Paramteric EQ2. The redraw speed is fast, but I will also add an option for another type of redraw should there be conflicts with graphical programs like screen recorders, etc.

The mousewheel has been fairly well behaved for Me, it would be hard to alter it, it is fairly precise to the "area" of the bell, but I suppose I could add pi and some trigonometry to decide where the bell is "perfectly". Should not be too hard: Admittedly, I relied on a square to calculate.

I put together a new user manual found here:

Also, here is the new about style that was requested for visibility:

The three freq3 (free version files) have also been updated. To download choose from .zip,.rar or .7z formats.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Hi, thanks again for those replies, they were helpful. I was looking at My code though; and there was a great deal of room for optimization. Tomorrow I'll upload a new version of the free (and paid of course) which runs about three times as fast and can handle being run more than three - four instances at a time, maybe even 20. It all comes down to simplifying everything.

It's daunting because the TB parametric EQ is already so good :), but then again; I guess mine sounds a little analog; and not as manicured. So, it's a nice accompaniment all the same.

Stay safe and I hope health is with everyone.

I updated this software and made it faster. I switched the design to a programming language that gets around some of the "bulge" of the processing. It's quite fast and it's My opinion that the commercial or the free version will now serve you better
