Can not hear EzBass and SD 3 at the same time

Post by bsheen74 »

Issue: Ezbass and Superior Drummer 3 as well as other Toontrack products have a built in song creating tool/arranger. I typically build the song inside of the vst, then drag the midi data into the DAW once I've finished editing using their(Toontracks) tools. In Cakewalk, you could use the vsts simultaneously and hear both when hitting play on the DAW transport. In Mixcraft, you can only hear the one that is selected at the time. I can't figure out how to hear both during playback. Is there a setting I'm missing?

You've got them on seperate MIDI tracks with their respective instruments and nothing is muted or solo'ed right?
EDIT: Just tried with EZD2 and Modo Bass - works fine. Also check tracks are not armed.

I think it has something to do with the midi being created within the instrument itself. If you look at the project I haven't dragged any of the midi into the track itself. So the tracks are "empty". All of the midi data is in the "song creator" portion of the plugin. Depending on which track you select, that is what you hear playback.

Sorry, I can't recreate that with Modo Bass - it does not have a MIDI editor 'in house'. Can you not just drag your created MIDI into the track?

Left click on all the tracks you want to hear whilst holding CTRL. (multiple selection)

The "ctrl" trick worked. That should be sufficient work around.

I can and will do that, but not until I get the songs completed within the Toontrack editor. There are many more options available within their interface that are not in a standard DAWs midi editor.
