Mixcraft 10 (whenever it materialises) MPE Support - yes or no?

Post by sdclee »

This question has been asked of MC 9, but it is very quiet in terms of responses from the developers as to whether MPE support will be available in MC 10. Surely by now this is either being worked on (or not as the case may be).
So, simple yes/no answer please. Will MC 10 have MPE support?
If the answer is no I'll fully migrate to my Mac with Logic or similar and confine my Windows box to the virtual bin.
I only use windows for MC 9 and Flight Simulator (occasionally) and some old legacy software.
Thanks.

Hi,

You can currently use MPE with plugins that support it within Mixcraft. What further support would you like to see?

Oh I came to understand that there was no MPE support, so how about ROLI STUDIO and ROLI EQUATOR 2?
Thanks.

Hi,

Well, I suppose there's no MPE support in that we don't currently provide plugins that recognize MPE, so MPE support could mean including some plugins like that with MIxcraft.

But if a third-party plugin recognizes MPE, then you can use that within Mixcraft.

sdclee,

You are probably already aware but please be aware that you would need hardware that transmits and responds to MPE (a keyboard, or whatever controller). I believe the whole point of MPE is playing an instrument with additional expressive control per note. The software aspect (VST) won't really make a difference when playing if your equipment doesn't transmit and receive the correct MIDI codes regardless of the DAW. I suppose you could spin dials and sliders on the VST while playing one's non-MPE compliant controllers or you could program your created MIDI file after the fact.

I do have ROLI blocks. They provide hardware "5D" MPE. As I don't have s windows machine powered up at present I don't know if the ROLI software integrates with MC9 as VSTs

Hi,

Try a plugin that responds to MPE in Mixcraft 9.
