Build 469 still crashing with Melodyne
So I was experiencing the great crash of 468. When I saw the new build I was excited, but even after updating, it still crashed. On the second attempt, a message box popped up and said "couldn't load Melodyne data". Which is fine. I will make my Melodyne edits in stand-alone for now. I already submitted a ticket for it a couple of days ago and Eric thought it was just high CPU usage, but this crash was right after I opened and it was only 5% system usage. I think Melodyne is causing the spikes.

Hi,
That log file you sent in to Eric shows build 468, and it also shows you were using Melodyne 4. Did you update to 469?
Try updating to Melodyne 5.1.

But isn't Melodyne 5.1 a whole new program? I'm using Studio version of #4. I don't want to scale back to the Essential version. Anyway, I still have to send a crash report for 469. Coming soon...

Hi,
Melodyne 4 had some crashes of its own. The recent Mixcraft update addresses an issue specific to
Melodyne v5.1. Contact Celemony to see what your options are for updating the studio version. Make sure you do have the latest version of Melodyne 4, at least.

Re: Build 469 still crashing with Melodyne
Well, if that's the case, I won't bother sending in the crash report. I think I'll have to do more work in Melodyne stand-alone and only make small edits in the DAW. Then mix to a new clip to get it out of there.
Re: Build 469 still crashing with Melodyne
Upon further investigation and under the auspices of Black Friday, I may just get Melly #5.
Re: Build 469 still crashing with Melodyne
UPDATE: I pulled the trigger and bought the upgrade. Much better. Thanks!

Just to be clear, it's free to upgrade Melodyne Essentials, which is what comes with Mixcraft Pro Studio.

So Greg what if I have Melodyne 4 EDITOR and want to upgrade that to 5 - will it work or should I save myself a hundred bucks... I could either use 4 Editor or 5 Essential then right?

Hi,
If you don't run into crashes with Melodyne 4 and Mixcraft build 469, don't worry about it. Melodyne 5.1 was crashing everybody, and the Melodyne 4 crashes are more elusive.

Right, but I'm used to "power windows" and not interested in going back to crank up. If you know what I mean.Acoustica Greg wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 9:33 am Just to be clear, it's free to upgrade Melodyne Essentials, which is what comes with Mixcraft Pro Studio.
Re: Build 469 still crashing with Melodyne
Hooboy, this is not my day. Now that I have Melodyne Studio 5, it's causing a new problem. When I went to undock it, there were double sets of it. (One overlaid the other, then disappeared) Then when I restarted there was an error message from them saying that there was corruption but that it was repaired. But when I listened to the playback, the edits I made were back to the wrong notes. Hmm. What are you doing Celemony?

Hi,
If problems persist, you can contact them directly here: Contact Celemony.
But restarting your computer would be the first thing to try.
