Tracks no longer lining up to the grid.
Hey everyone,
Small little issue. Hoping someone has a fix. Tracking some instruments and all my tracks were lined up to the grid. All of a sudden, they are in between the grid lines, not sure if it’s something I did. My main issue is my midi track (drums), everything else below was tracked to it. For some reason I can’t get my midi track to line up and it’s now causing an issue cutting or splitting, punching in and out, etc.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Al

Hi,
Select one of the misbehaving clips - what settings are you using on the Sound tab in regard to "Use Project Tempo / Time Stretch?"

Whatever was default. I haven’t touched any of that. I had a bunch of tracks that were all fine and lined up to the midi track and to the grid and they still are lined up to the midi track but now all line up in between the grid lines. I just sat down this afternoon and recorded a few more and after that I noticed that it didn’t line up anymore.
My midi track is 120 bpm and everything else is time stretch.
Edit: the only thing I did before recording a few more tracks this afternoon was I selected 2 existing tracks and duplicated them and deleted the audio tracks in them for my new tracks and recorded the new tracks.
I had also edited the track name of the original 2 tracks I had previously recorded and duplicated for these newer tracks and also just noticed that those audio files in the 2 track names I edited no longer have the track names on them only “Audio Track”.

Hi,
What your settings are for the clips that aren't lining up the way you expect. You wrote "whatever was set to default." How are they set? "Default" can vary depending on several factors.

I had mentioned in my previous post that the midi track is 120 bpm and the others were time stretch.

Says 85 bpm for all others...which is strange. If i use project tempo, it stretches them beyond what my midi track length is.

Hi,
So, that's not correct either, right?
Don't save that setting and quit Mixcraft, then load up the project, and if the clips are wrong, quit Mixcraft and send us your mixcraft-log.txt file.
To find the mixcraft-log file, highlight the following line and press Ctrl+C to copy it:
Press the Windows Key+R to pop up the Run box in Windows. Click in the Run box and press Ctrl+V to paste in the line from above. Finally, click OK to go to the location of the mixcraft-log.txt file. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file along with a brief description of the problem.

Re: Tracks no longer lining up to the grid.
Well...I was able to correct it by clicking each end of each audio clip (except the midi track) and the ends of the audio clips then extended out to the grid lines from between the grid lines. After doing this, it also corrected the adjoining audio tracks as well.
Now, all tracks that were “Time Stretch” (except the midi track) have changed to “Use Project Tempo”. But the midi track is still 120bpm and all others are still 85 bpm.
I just don’t understand how it got like that as it was fine earlier today and as soon as I duplicated a couple of tracks, shortly there after noticed this, even though it was fine prior to.

Re: Tracks no longer lining up to the grid.
Something like that happened once but I noticed that some of the tracks blocks weren't pulled to the start position. Must have slipped while I clicking on them.
Then, if you duplicate the track (or tracks) afterwards, it pastes at the same position as the former, still out of the grid lines.
I simply clicked on the track and slipped it back to the start position.
Hope this helps...
This could be a cause of misalignments when tracks are not locked in place. Then, if you duplicate the track (or tracks) afterwards, it pastes at the same position as the former, still out of the grid lines.
