Save Midifile separately

Post by gerhost »

Hello again a midi question:

Got a drum midi track
2 bars normal beat rhythm
1 measure fill

Now to the question:

How can I save the 2 bars beat separately as a midi file
and afterwards the 1 bar fill.
That I'll have 2 of my own midi files afterwards.

My problem: If I choose save midifile, Mixcraft takes both midifiles together as one clip.

Greetings Gerry

Temporarily add another instrument track and drop the fill clip in it. Save the 2 bar clip in the original track as a midi file, and then you can save the other as a separate midi file. Then put everything back the way it was and delete the new instrument track.

Thank you for the tip, but thought that it should work more easily.

Gerry,

Another way would be to add a lane to the existing track then move the second clip to the new lane.
On the new lane, mute the second clip.

Then save as midi (first clip).
Unmute second clip, save as midi.
