Musical Typing not working

Hello! I am a new Mixcraft user working my way through the manual for 9 Pro Studio. I don't have a MIDI keyboard yet, but according to the manual I should be able to use the QWERTY keyboard to use the Musical Typing function. I'm aware that this is not ideal in comparison to having an outboard keyboard, but I figured I'd get started this way for the time being. However, when I go to the View menu the Musical Typing option is grey, and the keyboard shortcut doesn't open the window either. So far I haven't had any other technical issues.

If anyone is able to help me with this issue or tell me how to turn it on, I would greatly appreciate it! Many thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to Mixcraft and the forums!
I suspect that you may have an audio track selected? Musical typing will of course only work on a Virtual Instrument track, with a virtual instrument loaded (the default Acoustic Piano for example).
