Tracks frozen

Post by RevSkelton »

I recorded 4 tracks but when I converted the song to a MP3 only the bass track appeared on the audio. Now the drums and guitar tracks won’t play at all and they are not muted?

just so we fully understand the problem, when you say 'convert to MP3' are you using File>Mix Down To>MP3; and is everything unmuted and playing properly in the project before that?

Yes that is correct. everything is un muted before I mixed it down to an MP3 file. I must warn you that my knowledge is limited as I have only been using mixcraft for a couple of days. Last night I tried to see if I could restore the tracks but I had no luck. I started over and recorded a new drum track and guitar track but then somehow I clicked on something that combined the drum track with the guitar track. I'm sure most of this is my lack of experience an background in home recording. However I appreciate anyone who can make time to help. Should I be doing multiple file saves as I build the song so I have something to fall back on if I mess up the track while I am learning? Is there an undo function?

Ah, so you're brand new then :D
First up, welcome to the forum; you'll always find plenty of help here.
What I'd first suggest is that you spend a little time on the 'basics'. There are great tutorials on the forum (4th item from top in topics.)
Here's a great place to start...
