Loading clips from a sampler or VSTi preset.

I have a question that has been bugging me for a while.

Some samplers (i.e. Arcade, Kontakt, Sampletank) have note sequences and arpeggios that can be triggered and heard with a midi keyboard or controller. VSTi synths have them too.

I have never been able to load the clips on a track directly (by dragging, or otherwise). I don't want to "record" them in. I just want to drag them in like I can with a groove in EZDrummer.

Can anyone help me?

Hi,

Not all VSTis allow dragging MIDI data. It's not a universal function. Specifically, what sequencer or arpeggiator are you trying to drag a clip from?

I'm not really familiar with that - but flipping tthrough the manual I didn't see anything where you could drag a clip out of that into a DAW. there was lots of modifying and dragging things within the program itself to build and change things. Maybe someone else has more insight into it.

Hi,

Yes, it works with EZDrummer. I suppose whether it would work with a different plugin would depend upon the way that particular plugin is programmed.
