How To Use A Midi Controller

So, I just got a shiny new Donner dmk 25 midi keyboard but what can I do with it?

I saw a promo video for it and the unit has pads and on the video, the lady is playing a nice little beat whilst playing synth on the keyboards.

I'm coming to this completely blind, completely new, so can anyone point me to the best websites which explain in extremely simple language how to set the thing up, assigning instruments and all that, so that I can get the thing going?

Then I can maybe get it connected to my Mixcraft and actually do something with it.

The Donner keyboard looks like it is a plug and play device, but if drivers came with it you will need to install them. Then I would watch these videos and go from there. These have Mixcraft 7 in them but the concept is basically the same. Good luck.
