Question about Routing to a Summing Mixer Plugin Analog Obsession NCAR

Post by chhetri18 »

Hi Folks,

Context:

Just wanted to ask a question regarding Mixcraft pro studio 9 when it comes to routing to a summing mixer plugins.
So I just started using this summing mixer plugin from Analog Obsession called NCAR (https://www.patreon.com/posts/ncar-35428355)
note: You do not need to donate(although would be nice!) to download plugins since there are download links with each description.

Here is Analog Obsession: https://www.patreon.com/analogobsession

These are free plugins mind you and they sound amazing.

Anyways, the plugin is called, NCAR from Analog Obsession.

Here is a video reference to what I am talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvpcL0MsB24&t=64s

My Question:
I tried making a send track and sending that to my other submixes and or other tracks and it only shows up as one of the channel strips moving(vu meter) within the plugin. I am not really sure how to treat each fader and route to the whole plugin.

I tried their direction but obviously, it is not working for me. I am trying to figure this out. Here is what they put:

Routing Steps (SUM);

- Put NCAR to Bus channel
- Send your individual tracks or bus tracks to NCAR track
- Select input channels which you want to use (See track explanation)
- Now, you are able to hear 8 Stereo Inputs from NCAR's 1 Stereo Out

Anyone have any ideas or is able to help?

Also here's a routing video on FL Studio although I do not use FL Studio but I am sure the concept can be the same here to Mixcraft:

Thank you!

In the plugin, look for a side chain option. That may be where you bring the individual tracks into the plugin itself

Hi,

The only thing with the side chain is you're likely only going to be able to select a single source. The author wrote the plugin with a specific DAWs behavior in mind. Without knowing the intentions of where and how the plugin will pickup the tracks, there's not much chance of getting it to work properly with mixcraft. My opinion, you'll save yourself some headache if you ditch the plugin, just create a submix track and add the tracks you want to sum. Use the Mixcraft mixer for that purpose. You'll also save yourself some processing power.
