Way to "zoom in" on tracks?

Post by mixyguy2 »

When I say "zoom in" I don't mean what MC means i.e. stretching out the track horizontally...I mean literally zooming in, like you would with a camera. There are times I want that closer look so I can more easily finely tune this or that. I'm guessing that's not possible, but offhand I suspect it's not possible in any DAW (not that that would cause me to switch. You'd have to pry MC from my cold dead hand). If anyone does know of a way, by all means, fire away. I guess I could change my monitor resolution, but that's a clumsy workaround.

Drag track larger vertically, then zoom in?

Hi,

Besides increasing the track height, there's also the option to open audio clips up in the external audio editor of your choice, like Audacity or whatever.

Here's an old video showing how to do it: Mixcraft 6 Mini-Tip: Using an External Audio Editor with Mixcraft

Thanks, but I can only increase the track height so far as I can't make that middle bar go down, and I am mostly MIDI so exporting wouldn't help most of the time.

At the very least, being able to drag that bar down so the Sound/Mixer section effectively disappears would help...but it'd be great if I could select a portion of a track and again quite literally zoom in, as if I was looking at it under a magnifying glass.

Look to the top right of the mixer console and click on the “-“, this will minimize the mixer console.

Thanks, saw that, but it doesn't change anything about what I'm talking about...

Hi,

Your best bet for now would be to use the "Edit In External Editor" option as I mentioned above.

Thanks for the suggestion!
