Problems with DLL files VSTs

Post by rev.f »

So when I download a VST, it's often just a .dll file. I tried to putting it into the Mixcraft VST file so it would load with Mixcraft, but it didn't work. Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

32-bit Mixcraft won't find 64-bit plugins, so make sure you're running 64-bit Mixcraft.

Sometimes people look for instrument plugins under FX and sometimes people look for effects under instruments, so make sure you're looking in the correct place. Sometimes the plugin has an unexpected name.

You could try putting it here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\VST\

If these things don't help, which plugin is it?

Hi Greg,

Before I try your solutions, is there any possible problem that could be caused by putting a DLL file into the VST folder that you mention?

thx

Thats probably where it belongs. (Depending on what it is, 32 or 64 bit, etc.)

Putting them in the Mixcraft program folder isnt recommended.
Stay in tune, Mark
