New laptop for Mixcraft question

Post by Glaw »

Hello my fellow Mixcrafters (or is it Mixcraftians).

I'm about to get a not-so-expensive laptop mainly for Mixcraft. I have 2 options so far, which one would you recommend to get the best performance while recrding/mixing with Mixcraft?

Option 1:
DELL: AMD Ryzen 5, 2.10GHz, Quad core, 8mb ram (can be expanded to 16gb). 256gb SSD.

Option 2:
HP: AMD Ryzen 3, 3.7 GHz, 12gb ram, 256gb SSD.

Thanks in advance.

Option 1 with 16gb ram upgrade. I had an i7-4750 with 12gb ram and it would choke up pretty quick with a couple vsti and some vst. And if you could wait and get a newer processor that would be ideal, processors got tons better after 2017-18, Ryzen is on 9 now.

As a rule of thumb, always pick the system with the better processor, as the rest of the components are less significant and can often be upgraded if really needed.
