Gap between split samples

Hi. I did a search, but couldn't find anything specific to my problem.

1. Import a wav file
2. Split the wav file, to repeat a section, or whatever.
3. Sounds great
4. Render file to any format
5. Audible gaps between the segments >:(

I've tried everything I can think of and most of the fixes for wav rendering issues I've spotted here, but nothing is working.

Did you try merging (CTRL W) all the split clips?

I did, yes. It merges the gap into the file. I am so desperate that I even tried to re-edit the merged file to take out the gap, but I just get another gap lol

Make sure that snap to grid is off and zoom in to your clips and move them as close together as you can see with a slight overlap. Then play it back and listen for the gap. If it’s ok merge the clips.

Yeah, overlapping clips causes them to automatically fade into one another, and that can smooth out the sound.

If there's a little click at the start or end of a clip, you might need to add a tiny fade.
