Kontakt not displaying properly through mixcraft 9

Post by nicholasqquiroz »

Hello,
When I run Kontakt through Mixcraft, it is displaying improperly and I cannot edit the settings or use effectively. When I can use ut it runs the CPU all the way up to 99% use and malfunctions. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

Try using the VST2 version of the plugin instead of the VST3 version.

+1. I had the same with vst3, but running the vst2 version worked for me to fix the visuals.

Hi, have you been able to find a fix for you Kontakt issue? I'm looking into upgrading to MX9Pro from v8Pro. I'd like to make sure I'm not going to run into this kind of issue, as I'm using Kontakt too (K6).

Thanks!

Hi,

The fix is to use the VST version instead of the VST3 version for now.

OK, no big deal, I never go for VST3 anyways.

Hi,

Not sure what it is you are pointing at? Also, can you try making a clearer screenshot? This one is blurry and pixelated.

And sorry to ask, but are you new to Kontakt? What were you expecting that you don't see?

Going from that screenshot, maybe just click the Show button?

I did not notice (because I haven't used v9 for production so far) that the EDIT button was renamed (appropriately) SHOW in v9.

 :)

Quick tip: right-click Change Instrument to show the instrument.

Right-click "Change Instrument"

Well for some effed up reason I only have "Kontakt (VST3)" now; I used to have a "Kontakt" option as shown in the blurry image above. :) And have the same problem. Not sure this is a Mixcraft thing. Re-installing Kontakt didn't help. And after reporting it last week I haven't heard jack. God I hate NI.

Not sure if this will be helpful, but you can download older updates. I'm running v5.8.1 on my system as well as v6.4, two separate instances. Just so I don't lose access to older libraries.

Here on NI website (login to see the link).
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/s ... &t=updates

As for VST3, have you tried aiming the install to a different folder than the default one? If it goes to Steinberg folder, it may reach for the VST3 folder. Maybe if you aim at a different one? (create a new one if you need).

Hope this helps a bit...

Hi,

Some plugins won't show both VST2 and VST3 versions of the plugin (if they share the same VST ID), but Kontakt should. With VST2 plugins, you have to clue Mixcraft in as to the location of the plugin. On my computer, they are here:

C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit

Go into Plugins preferences and click Edit VST/VSTi Folders to add the folder where you installed the VST2 version of the plugin. This assumes you chose to install the VST2 version of the plugin, of course.
